UAE introduces multiple entry visa for cruise travellers
UAE introduced multiple-entry visa system for cruise travelers to boost ship calls by 16 % and tourist arrivals by 7 % over next season, according to a senior executive at the DTCM (Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing).

The next season starts from September 2015 to June 2016 and is expected to entice 128 ship calls and 410,000 travelers when compared to 110 ship calls and 381,000 tourists in the present season which ends by June 2015.

The new visa system was proposed on 1 August and now permits travelers to enter the UAE multiple times through any of its ports. Cruise lines such as Aida, TUI, Costa and MSC are docking at Mina Rashid of Dubai in the current season. It is expected that the visa system will brings more vessels from these firms and they expect demand to grow. The travel agencies and cruise operators said that the next season is expected to draw cruise passengers.

A statement released by the Royal Caribbean International's regional director read that they are happy with the execution of the multiple entry visa system in the UAE and this will encourage their global sales strategy. They expect to see greater number of passengers from India, China, South Africa, Latin America, Russia and Central/Eastern European countries.
