Tourist Visas to Boost Saudi Economy by $9 Billion
The decision to start issuing tourist visas to Saudi Arabia in six months will be a major reason for the increase in economy of the kingdom by more than SR 35 billion in the next five years because of influx of over seven million tourists to Saudi.The Chairman of the Jeddah Commerce and Industry's (JCCI) tourism committee, Prince Abdullah Bin Saud Bin Muhammad reportedly told a leading newspaper that the kingdom of Saudi had great potential for tourism and would be one of the major attractions in the region owing to this decision. He further went on to state that the decision to issue visas by the SCTA or Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities came along with a number of regulations to raise the standards of the accommodation sector which included fines of up to SR 50,000 (13,000 dollars) for the tourism facilities which were working without certificates of classification.Prince Abdullah also added that the punishment would bring under its fold any facility that may thwart the entry of SCTAs inspectors and supervisors. The SCTA was looking forward to about 1.5 million tourists to the country in a year. New Zealand to Relax Visa Regulations For Indian Travelers
Foreign governments to lure more Indian tourists to travel more, they have relaxed the visa regulations. After Ireland and the UK, it is the chance of New Zealand who has decided to ease the rules of the visa. It has also made an announcement last week that they will grant visa to the business travelers who are attending events and conferences in the country in three days instead of the current 10-12 days of processing time. Countries such as the US have already relaxed the visa norms to attract more Indian visitors by 2015. Expatriates Should be Permitted with the Visa Free Travel across the GCC
A senior official said that the foreign expatriates who are residing in GCC states must be permitted to take a trip within the six Gulf nations with no necessity of visas. The assistant director general for entry permit section at the GDRFA in Dubai Salah bin Suloum said that such steps will enhance the regional economy and boost the intra Gulf tourism. Manafez in an interview said that the move will add in the improvement of tourism across GCC where millions of expatriates are breathing in parallel surroundings in residency rules and security He also said that the new service will be a pathway for new levels of prosperity which will benefit hotels, airlines, restaurants, car rentals and shopping malls amongst other sectors. South Korea to Relax the Visa Rules
In a bid to attract foreign workers to tackle its waning labor force, the labor minister on Monday said that South Korea will look up at its visa issuance structure. The government said that it will ease the present points based system to permit number of foreign talented workers to immigrate to the country. Under the current system, the foreign talent who has high scoring are issued with the F2 visa. This visa eliminates all boundaries on work, if the foreigners stay for a year. The F5 visa is for the foreign workers who stay in the country for more than three years after obtaining F2 status.The government said that the foreign workers who stay in the country for at least a year will be granted with the F5 visa permanent stay. The minister also said that the students who are planning for their further studies or doctorate program in the country and foreign workers who meet certain necessities for the amount of investment, investors and income. South Korea will allow them to stay in the country along with their family members. African nations such as Kenya and Tanzania offer visa- free entry to Indian travelers. The Caribbean Islands of Grenada offer a 90 day visa free entry for Indians. Cook Islands, an island country with nearly 15 islands in the South Pacific Ocean, located near New Zealand permits Indians to stay for a maximum period of 200 days without visa. Beijing Plans to Attract Foreign Tourists by Extending Visa Policy
