UK to make easier its Visit Visa Process

UK to make easier its Visit Visa Process

The present system of travel visa will be simplified as per promulgation made by the UK Home Office. The forthcoming changes will be made known in April 2015. This would aid both the business class and the performing artists to gain passage into the UK. As such, these changes have been planned in the wake of continuous discontent amongst the UK business leaders. They were finding faults with the existing visit visa process, saying that burdensome and an obstruction to the growth of economy. There were purportedly complaints coming in from the arts quarters in London about the dearth of talented performers arriving in the country. The major change that will be incorporated in the existing visit visa system is the reduction of the number of UK travel visa categories from 15 to just four. These are the following four groups which will now be included:-A tourist visa for individuals who will be engaging themselves in paid undertakings like performance arts, theatre appearances and concerts;A standard visa which will be extended to visitors;A traveler visa for the people who come to the UK for civil partnerships and marriage; andLastly, a visa category for those who are covering transits via UKThese changes are slated to make simple, the present system. This is because people can now make use of the same travel visa for performing a wider range of activities like vacationing and attending business conferences. The current system did not have such facility and required a person to hold two types of visas for allowing them to involve in both these activities. Till these new changes have been introduced, it is very essential for citizens of South Africa to remember that the current system still exists. So, it is almost impossible to conduct business on a visitor pass.

Plans to Push Indonesian Infrastructure to Boost Tourism Industry

Plans to Push Indonesian Infrastructure to Boost Tourism Industry

In a bid to double the number of visitors coming to the archipelago, the government of Indonesia has made an announcement to improve its infrastructure concerning key visitor hotspots. This will be completed by 2019. For discussing these strategies, President Joko Widodo met ministers as part of a series of policy initiatives which aim to raise the travelers count to 20 million by the next four years.According to Anies Baswedan, the minister for education and culture, the government has decided to make the tourism industry; a leading sector and all those ministers associated with this industry would be having a meeting with the President. In 2013, 8.8 million visitor visas were stamped in Indonesia, which was a 10% rise from the last year. However, in order to meet its 2019 target, the government has planned for some changes.Included in these plans were changes such as inclusion of a visa-free policy extended to five nations, initiations to quintuple Indonesia's budget for enhancing tourism from Rp 250 billion to Rp 1.2 trillion. Basuki Hadimuljono, Public Works Minister was of the view that his ministry would give adequate backing to the plan of action of 2015-19 tourism plans by developing easy accessibility to attractions. This was done because some parts of Indonesia were losing out on tourist money owing to non-accessibility in reaching the hoteliers and tour operators.Basuki also added that the roads leading to Lake Toba in Sumatra which is the location of the largest volcanic outburst of the world 25 million years ago as well as the largest volcanic lake in the world would be revamped. At present, the road route takes about five hours to cover a distance of 160 kilometers, starting from the nearby airport in Medan, North Sumatra. During the latter half of the previous year, Arief Yahya, the Minister for Tourism said to professionals in this industry on the occasion of Indonesia Tourism Investment Day 2014, that the industry required much greater investment. He said that this money which is spent on developing the industry would result in generation of better returns than in manufacturing.Follow VisitVisas for more visa updates at Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

Free visas to Malaysia allure Indians

Free visas to Malaysia allure Indians

Visa fees have been remitted for Indian travelers to Malaysia so that more number of them can visit the country and shop there. Till date, a tourist from India spends around RM 350 to RM 400 for visa fees and other charges. According to the Tourism minister, Nazri Aziz said that the visa waiver was a way of welcoming an extra two million visitors. This would bring a total target of 29.4 million overseas tourists arriving in Malaysia this year. In the previous year, a total of 1.4 million Indian travelers visited Malaysia. The boom in tourism earnings between January and September months last year resulted in nearly RM 1.8 billion as compared to 2013, when it was only RM 1.3 billion during the same time. For Malaysia, India was the fifth largest lead for providing visitors. Malaysia remains the favorite ASEAN destination of Indians.Nazri added that on an average, Indian tourists' stay duration in Malaysia lasts for about six and a half days, during which, they end up spending approximately RM 2,900. This is attributed to the fact that just like the Chinese, Indians too are fond of shopping. This visa free prerogative is already being availed by travelers from South Korea, Japan and China. Mohamed Nazri said that the ministry is having a strong opinion for extending the scheme to Indians also.In a bid to boost the development of Indian travel trade to Malaysia, four main airlines have decided on increasing their weekly flights to the country via direct routes. At present, there are 156 flights on a weekly basis, flying between Malaysia and important Indian cities, with about 30,000 seats. The minister said that total inflow of foreign tourists was 27.4 million. The ministry was coming up with organizing promotion campaigns in India as well as other countries of the Indian sub-continent in order to promote Malaysia.Nazri said that they had estimated to bring in at least two million additional tourists to measure up to their targets so that revenue of up to RM 80 billion can be generated. Also, they did not want to fall behind the other ASEAN countries which have their visa fee waiver program in place. For Indians who wish to prolong their stay in Malaysia, could choose Malaysia's Second Home Programme. This would enable them to reside in the country for up to 10 years without the need for holding a visa.To know more interesting updates on visas, follow VisitVisas at Facebook, Twitter and Google+.

Indian nationals to be offered British-Irish visa scheme

Indian nationals to be offered British-Irish visa scheme

The British-Irish Visa Scheme which started on Tuesday allows Indians to get a single travel permit to visit both the UK and Ireland. This is in agreement after mutual understanding by both these countries in connection with short stay visas. This contract is applicable already to Chinese travelers, marks an extraordinary level of co-operation between Britain and Ireland. In the previous year, the Minister for Justice, Frances Fitzgerald said that the globally widespread rollout of the scheme was in conjunction with the British Home Office which was one of the top priorities before the Government term ending next year. Mechanical and coherent data on immigration will be exchanged between London and Dublin. The Irish counterpart in this tie-up will gather all the biometric data and send it to the United Kingdom authorities. The above scheme is only applicable to short stay visas and does not include work or student visas. According to the Department of Foreign Affairs, travelers should first apply for the visa of the country that they are going to go to first. For instance, if you hold a visa to Britain but also wish to see Ireland, you must first go to the UK and vice-versa.As per the department, the above plan is still under way and applicable only to Chinese and Indians who apply for short term visas to both these countries. Eventually, other countries of the world will also be brought under its fold.Follow VisitVisas at Facebook, Twitter and Google+ for more visa updates.

Emirate citizens to get visa-free Tour to Europe by Spring

Emirate citizens to get visa-free Tour to Europe by Spring

This spring onwards, UAE nationals would probably be able to travel to Europe without the need for a visa. This would come almost a year after the vote in the European Parliament was passed in favor of suspending the need for Emiratis to hold a Schengen visa. Among the Arab countries, UAE will be the first one and so the Emiratis will be the first to get a waiver for visa in the Schengen nations.According to Giorgio Starace, Italian Ambassador to the UAE, Brussels has released the latest news that this visa waiver will be made possible by spring. Most of the process is over and this procedure is expected to get over soon. Starace said that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed has accelerated to get the visa waiver. And one such country which was instrumental in this was Italy.Italy has been a crucial partner to the UAE, both economically and politically. This visa suspension will be useful for boosting the inflow of Emirate citizens to not just Italy but the entire Europe. However, Starace was not in a position to give a start date when the visa-free travel would commence. Italy hopes to be the first to benefit under the visa waiver plan.More than 35,000 visas were issued for Italy in the previous year from Dubai while 12,000 were issued from Abu Dhabi. These visas were issued to expatriates and UAE citizens. Last year in February, 523 members out of 577 of the European Parliament voted in favor of the visa-free travel for UAE nationals. The Schengen Area comprises of 26 states which includes 22 out of the 28 EU member nations. Some of these countries are Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, France, Latvia, Luxembourg and many others. To follow more updates on travel, follow VisitVisas at Facebook, Google+ and Twitter.
