Norway happiest country Declares Forbes com Prosperity com Li com

Norway is the happiest country in the world as per recent rankings and USA has slipped to 12th from 10th position.

This ranking was as per a study on 142 countries that comprises of 96% of the world’s population conducted by the London-based Legatum Institute Prosperity Index, a report posted on said.

89 indicators were assessed which were divided into 8 categories - economy, entrepreneurship and opportunity, governance, education, health, safety and security, personal freedom and social capital.

Norway whose per capita GDP is at $57,000 a year is the happiest and is followed by Denmark, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Ireland in the ranking list.

“Norwegians have the second-highest level of satisfaction with their standards of living: 95 percent say they are satisfied with the freedom to choose the direction of their lives; an unparalleled 74 percent say other people can be trusted,”
