Chinese visitors come to california

Chinese Visitors
Tourist outflow to Los Angeles from China has almost increased four times during the past four years, making this nation the largest market for tourism abroad. The count of Chinese visitors increased from 158,000 to 570,000 over a period ranging from 2009 to 2013. This is in accordance with the annual report of Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp.

Another significant reason that will boost tourism growth is a policy concerning visa which has been approved by US President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping. This policy was decided upon at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meet which was held in November where they decided to extend the visitor visas to 10 years and 5 years for student visas.

Every year, a stable flow of about 1 million Chinese travelers arrive in California. This number is expected to double by 2020. During last November, the US consulates in China reported a 68% rise in issuing of visas which was indicative of a surge in Chinese travelers to the US. According to sources, around 63% increase in Chinese tourists from 2013 till next three years will be spending an estimated 2.2 billion dollars while on a vacation in California. The expenses would include shopping, transportation and touring.

The new policy surrounding visa will definitely give a fillip to California tourism industry with immediate effect. It was also promulgated that airline service between China and California's two important gateways that includes San Francisco and Los Angeles, has risen by 44%. In a bid to aid Chinese visitors and tourists, Chinese airlines have started additional direct flights from Los Angeles to major cities in China. Air China would soon be launching a direct flight from Los Angeles to Beijing. The scheduled date for this is 2 May and will be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and during the weekends till the end of June. Going forward from 1 July, these flights will run on a daily basis.

Chinese travelers are one among the lavish spenders in cities of South California. They spend, on an average, 6,000 dollars per person on every trip to the US, which is the highest amount spent in the world. Most of the stores engage salespersons who are fluent in Mandarin-Chinese to help the Chinese customers. Chinese travelers are deemed to have the highest buying capacity among all foreign visitors.
