Russia Thinking Seriously About Putting an End to Visas for Indians
Russian Minister of Trade and Industry, Denis Manturov reportedly said that it is seriously considering about removal of visas for Indian businessmen and travelers and a decision to that effect is about to be arrived at soon. This decision was put under consideration a day after the Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to India.

According to Denis Manturov, this discussion about abolition of visas for tourists and entrepreneurs comes in the wake of a meeting with the top officials of FICCI or the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. As per his statement to the Russian Itar-TASS news agency, there are continuous talks going on which will ultimately lead to a conclusive decision being made. However, he could not give the exact time when the abolishment would come into force.

Last month saw India kick start the new electronic visa facility for 43 nations which included Russia. This facility will enable a visitor from these countries to apply and pay online for the e-visa and get an ETA or Electronic Travel Authorization within 72 hours.
