Indian Cricket Lovers to Travel Down Under
Indians are slowly welcoming the idea of travelling abroad as part of sports tourism enhancement. Tour operators are positive about the results they would be getting as the World Cup, 2015 draws near. The host countries are Australia and New Zealand for this year’s cricket World Cup.

Down Under is reportedly receiving 20-25% travel-related queries while Yatra seems to have doubled in its claim as compared to previous year. Operators are expecting the demand to rise further as the Cricket fever catches up in the next 30-60 days.

According to Karan Anand, Head, Relationships of Cox and King the forthcoming sports season has increased the visibility of the destination to the travelers, especially Australia and New Zealand. The introduction of the single visa to these two nations is a major boost to travelers. He further said that most of these travel packages would be for 10 nights and 11 days, during which time the tourists would travel to nearby locations like Sydney, Wellington and other places as well. To enable more Indians to travel to New Zealand, the country’s tourism has joined hands with Cox and Kings to speed the visa processing for business visas to three working days. Some of the travel operators include match tickets as part of the packages.

The other major sporting event apart from the ICC Cricket World Cup is the FIFA World Cup which attracts innumerable Indians to foreign lands.
